Wip Wednesday #6

The Cushion Continues!

Well as you know last week was not a great knitting week for me, but since I got home on Sunday I have been a knitting demon! Poor husband and cat have been almost completely ignored, with only the faint cry of "I must have more done by Wednesday!" ringing through the house! Hee hee! It has all paid off though as today I have an almost finished cushion to show you! Here it is

Excuse the rubbish photo, I just couldn't get the light right!

Now I will be honest this week has not been without its upset. You see that lovely, very close to being straight band that I have put round the cushion well the first attempt at this was less than successfull. I decided that I would just sew it on by eye. I also make cards and have quite a good eye for seeing if something is striaght and I rarely measure anything. Apparently sewing is different, here is my first attempt

Well I had to unpick it, obvously! Husband did say it didn't look too bad but really who did he think he was kidding!!! But I think you'll agree the second attempt was much better. Well that's it for me this week, hopefully see you on Fo Friday with a finished cushion!

Happy knitting! x

  1. I quite like the wonky band, but then I'm terrible at straight lines on anything so I've changed my expectations to like wonkiness ;) The second attempt does look better though!

  2. Hi Sam, I hate that when that happens, and then you have to unpick and re-sew! Second attempt looks like it did the job though! Can't wait to see the finished cushion. bee x

  3. Yes, it's so true that sewing is the hardest part of knitting!!!

  6. I'm pants at sewing. Your first attempt is better than my first attempt would be, haha! It was nice of your hubby to try and comfort you. :)

  7. Ah yes, WIPW is so motivating isn't it? It's a good thing our families are pretty tolerant of our WIP obsessions. I look forward to seeing the cushion on Friday!

  9. What a lovely husband to say that it looked ok - even if you knew he was kidding - mine would have been more ... blunt! Looking forward to seeing it on Friday! :-)

  10. WIPW and FO Friday cause many laughs in my house. Bank Manager(Hubby) now says it's not 'just one more row', but 'I need to be further for WIPW'!

  12. The second attempt looks straight to me, but I'm dreadful at sewing straight so I shouldn't say much more. I think my cat hates my knitting too!

  13. The second attempt is great! I bet you'll be soo happy you fixed it. I don't think it looked bad the first time, but it would have probably bugged you every time you looked at the cushion.

  14. Hehe, good rescue on the cushion! It looks great, I love the lemony yellow :) I'm hopeless at getting things straight. I can't even write in a straight line on plain paper, it always veers off somewhere!
