first the tie top
This is to give you an idea of the shaping for the arm hole, as I was knitting it I wasn't really sure how it was going to work but now that it's done it looks good!
This next photo is just to give you an idea of how much it has grown. I still have quite a bit to do on the back but I'm happy with it! However, I think I am putting the tie top on a time out. Don't get me wrong it hasn't been naughty and I'm not sick of it at all, its just now I'm getting on so well with Eva's cardigan I have been thinking I would knit a jumper for James, so I would concentrate on that then go back to the tie top!
So here is Eva's cardigan! I am thrilled with this!
It actually looks like a cardigan! I will admit I'm slightly nervous about the next stage as I have to pick up and knit. This is for the rib boarder round the neck and down the side. But I can only try so I'm going to keep positive! Fingers crossed! I don't think I'll have it finished for this Friday but I will have something to show you on Friday! Ooooo intrigue!
Ok well I'm off to have a look at Tami's blog and see what everyone else is up to!
I will also be linking this post with the following blogs

Don't be nervous - picking up stitches is much simpler than you might expect ;)
ReplyDeleteWow - both projects are looking great!!! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the pick up and knit! It terrifies me too because when i have to do it with socks my stitches always look weird.
ReplyDeletePicking up stitches is easy, if you do run into trouble you can use a crochet hook to help. Along the front edge use this mantra, pick up 3 stitches for every 4 rows. Do not pick up the number the pattern tells you to unless you have perfect row gauge. Most of us never have perfect row gauge! If you pick up too many sts it will ruffle, if you pick up too few it will bow. If you are doing 1x1 ribbing, pick up an odd number, if you are doing 2x2, pick up an even number that can be divided by 4 and add 2 sts. If this doesn't make sense, yell at me, I will be happy to help.
ReplyDeleteYou'll be fine picking up those stitches. Both projects looks great xx
ReplyDeleteBoth projects are progressing nicely. I hate picking up stitches too!
ReplyDeleteArmhole shaping on the tie top looks perfect to me! You can let go of that breath that you were holding :)
ReplyDeleteAs for pick up and knit, if at first you don't succeed ... well, you know the rest. You want to be as pleased with the finishing as you are with the rest of the sweater after all that work!
Wow, great progress. They look great.
ReplyDeleteNice work! You'll be done before you know it.
ReplyDeleteGreat progress on both sweaters. They are looking good.
ReplyDeleteI love your tie top and the cardigan is looking great! I hope it all goes smoothly for you :)
