Fo Friday - Pretty purple hat

I promise this will be the last hat I show for a long little while (I do love hats!) This one was another Christmas present, this time for my lovely wee niece Eva. I wanted it to be purple as I just loved this yarn and I thought a pretty white flower would look really good with the purple. What do you think?

I was also really pleased with how the top of the hat came out, believe it or not it was a mistake, I had been working on the hat late at night to get it finished and didn't read the pattern correctly and this is what happened

The only problem is I don't think I'll be able to recreate it as I have no idea what I did, oh well Miss Eva has an Auntie Sam original!

Not another blog?!

Yes that's right, I have started another blog! Don't worry I am not abandoning Knitting Adventures, my new blog is going to be for the rest of my life. I am going to write about all the other stuff that I get up to; sewing, card making, books, cooking, music, films, clothes, everything really. I have been thinking about starting another blog for a while now but finally took the plunge yesterday! I'd forgotten how long it takes to set up a blog and get it how you want it and I expect there will be more changes to come...

Fo Friday - Pixie hat

Yay! Today I have something to show you. It is a bit of a cheat as it has been finished for ages and was given at Christmas as a present, but for obvious reasons I couldn't post about it until now. So here it is, a gorgeous little pixie hat




It was so easy to knit and really fun, I love the colour do you like it?



Here it is completely finished, how cute?! I knitted it for my wee nephew James and I can say he was thrilled with it, well as thrilled as an 8 month baby can be, but his mummy seemed to be pleased with it! Hopefully I will have a photo of him in it soon, which I will post, because really, who can resist a cute baby photo?!!

Wip Wednesday #22

Happy New Year Everyone!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and ate as much chocolate as I did! I have been back to work for two days now and I have to say its going ok so far, in fact I'm quite happy to be back. I have made a couple of resolutions, just things like blog more, knit more and generally try and be a bit more chilled out, happy and less judgemental of others. Have you made any resolutions?

Now onto wips!

I haven't actually done any knitting in about a month, maybe more, I'm ashamed to say it really but I like to be honest! However, today I did cast on a new project that I would like to share with you, there isn't really much to show but here it is anyway

As I said not much to see, but I can tell you what it is going to be, its going to be a hooded cardy for a wee 6 month old baby girl called Neve. Neve's gorgeous auntie asked me to knit something for her when she was born so I'm hoping to get this finished quite soon as I promised it ages ago!!

The other wip I have is an old one but thought I would give you an update on how it's going, so here is my tie top

As you can see its getting there but still needs lots of work! I'm feeling pretty good about it though so fingers crossed it all goes ok.

Well I think that's it for me today.
